Congratulations to our Year 3/4 hockey team who played in a Quicksticks tournament at Gillingham Anchorians Hockey Club on Thursday this week.
Quiksticks is a four-a-side cut down game for younger players and half of our team had only been playing for a few weeks and had never played in competitive matches before.
The morning matches were played in a group of seven and despite losing one match the team finished in first place giving them a guaranteed top 3 finish. In the afternoon the top teams from each morning group played each other and the winning ways continued with no goals conceded and all the afternoon matches were wins.
In defence nobody got past Hollie whilst Sam, Ben, Katie and Ellie worked tirelessly in support all day and Max became the chief goal scorer. Through the day the team scored 23 goals and conceded 1, this can only happen if the whole team are working together. A great team effort. Thank to Harry and Roger for managing the team and to all the vocal and 100% positive support from the side. It is vital for the players that that support is positive, it provides such a boost to the children when it is.
Miers Court are very proud to have our year 3/4 and our year 5/6 teams both representing Medway in the Kent Schools' Games finals at Holcombe Hockey Club on the 21st June.
