More Hockey Success

Following on from our teams triumph at the Night of Champions last week we had two teams in the final week of the Medway Primary Schools' Hockey League hosted by Gillingham Anchorians Hockey Club.

Our Black team which comprised a mixture of year 6, 5, 4 and even year 3 children finished a creditable 8th in the league with a win under their belt and beginning to score some goals and really develop their hockey skills and knowledge ready for next year.

Our Red team finished the rain-affected league unbeaten. Two games were rain-draws, the rest were all wins, scoring 36 goals and conceding only 2 in the tournament. This was a real team effort, with the defence mopping up almost every attack then distributing to the midfield and forwards to do their thing. The team this year have been an absolute pleasure to coach, and with the super-positive help of Roger Pope throughout the year, the team have blossomed into a truly effective outfit.

Well done to you all.

Pictured are some of them (year 4 were on their trip this week) with the Chair of the Hockey Club, Laura Hopkins.
