Mini Youth Games Cricket

This week was the Mini Youth Games Cricket tournament. 54 teams with 10 players each and their coaches, teachers and supporters took over the little village of High Halstow for the day. It was very busy.

Our team was mostly made up of year 5 pupils, the majority of whom were in their first season playing cricket of any sort.

The competition was fierce with many teams hitting the ball a long way but we stuck to it and came away with a couple of wins under our belts, and despite the final game being a loss to one of the stronger teams in the competition it was also our best performance with a good score and an excellent bowling performance leaving us in 40th position overall.

Well done to the cricket team, we have lots to build on for next year now.

Thanks go to everyone who supported and helped with transport.

Mr McDonald.

PS Pictures to follow, the subs who took pictures to hundreds of them!
