Kent Schools. Games Finals

Our hockey team went to Canterbury hockey club on Tuesday to represent Medway in the Kent Schools' Games Hockey finals.

It was a hot afternoon and we were scheduled to play in groups of 5 teams with only the highest placed team from 3 groups and one runner up from all them to go through to the finals.

We made a strong start beating the first team 4-1 with the goals shared out amongst the team. Unfortunately we then lost the next three games, one of them to the team who won overall and one (only by two goals) to the team who qualified as highest group runner up and went on to come third overall. It was a really tough group!

The team however got better and better and worked really hard all day to improve and learn as a team. They really made the teams that beat us work hard for their goals.

Many of the opposition players were year 6 and maost of our team were year 5 so really well done to them We finished 11th in the competition which means we are 11th in Kent at hockey for years 5 and 6.
