Hockey Success

On the 3rd November our hockey team went to Holcombe Hockey Club to take part in the Mini Youth Games tournament. They had been training hard for ages and were really looking forward to the competition. There were 44 schools in the competition and we were scheduled to play eight 10 minute matches throughout the day.

It is enough to say that every player played brilliantly and as part of the team all day, passing the ball well and moving on in support. It got to the point where it didn't matter which combination of players was on or where they were playing such was the strength in depth. We won all eight games and only conceded one goal all day.

In the final standings three schools had won all their matches so it came down to goal difference: the third place team's was plus 19, ours was plus 33 and St Mary's Island had plus 40 so ran out as winners.

Second place is a magnificent result. One to be incredibly proud of and we look forward to taking part in the night of champions finals in the summer.

Thanks for the massive amount of support we had at the competition too all day.
