Letters for Parents

School/Home Communication

At Miers Court Primary School we communicate with our parents by Autotext.  This allows us to communicate efficiently and quickly with parents and guardians by email, text message and also directly to your smart phone via an app called Parent Comms.

Parent Comms is available for Andriod, Iphone and Windows Phone and, if we send out an urgent message, it will be pushed directly to your phone.  The only charge to you for any of these methods of communication is if you pay for mobile data and subscribe to the message service in the app.  Otherwise, you will continue to receive texts and/or emails free of charge.

There are many benefits with this service: -

  • you no longer have to go searching for letters at the bottom of school bags;
  • messages appear in your inbox in the condition that they left school;
  • we can be certain that you have received the message;
  • urgent communications can be texted to your registered mobile number and/or the app directly;
  • there is also the benefit to the environment that we are sending less paper home.

Please feel free to contact the school office if you would like more information about this service.

A copy of any letters that we email will also be available on this website under the 'Letters to Parents' page.

We also subscribe to a service called Opencheck.  Using this system, information about any emergency closures can be sent via the Parent Comms app.  You won't have to constantly check websites or listen to the local radio to get up-to-the-minute news on whether the school is open.

  1. To install Parent Comms and Opencheck to your phone, go to your app store and search for Parentcomms - it is supplied by Atomwide.
  2. In the app, select Opencheck in the menu and then subscribe.  Selected Medway as your local authority and then select Miers Court in the schools list.

You may also be able subscribe to other schools if they are using the same system.
